FOR QUEEN & COUNTRYBesom Productions follow Flash Harry for one-off doc

Filmed in the run up to the 2010 Westminster elections “For Queen and Country” , a 1 x 40 min documentary for BBCNI follows the fate of first time politician 44 year old Harry Hamilton, aka Freddie Mercury impersonator 'Flash Harry,'  as he strives to win back David Trimble's old Westminster seat in Upper Bann. But between Harry and political success lies one man - the DUP's David Simpson. Simpson, a disciple of Rev Willie McCrea with whom he shares the same record label and occasionally the same stage, regularly fills the gospel halls of the Upper Bann.  Harry meanwhile packs out the Albert Hall. All eyes are on `Flash Harry' since the Ulster Unionist Party joined the Conservatives and agreed that he was to be one of their 18 candidates to fight in the Westminster elections. Never before has the Upper Bann seat generated so many headlines, nor has one seat ever symbolised what the future of unionism might hold.

Filmed and Directed by Alison Miller, Produced by Margo Harkin and Edited by Nick Emerson.

To be broadcast on BBC1 NI on Monday 5th July, 10:35.
